Welcome to the Bushey Festival
I am delighted to introduce the 2015 Bushey Festival. You will see that this year’s programme is as packed as ever, with events to interest and entertain all ages, so make sure you read what’s on offer very carefully! Here is a quick taste of some of the events that will take place this July.
Musically, we have three superb lunchtime concerts on the three Saturdays, including a return of Festival Favourite Matthew Hardy. There is a recital by Richard and Hilary Hubbert (flute and oboe) and Neil Kelley (piano), on Wednesday 15th which promises to be a real treat. We have two magnificent choirs to entertain us on Monday 6th and a wonderful Gala Concert at St Margaret’s School on Saturday July 18th. Be sure not to miss any of these!
There are many young people’s events including a Disney Princesses Extravaganza, Beauty and the Beast Junior, a visit to a local farmyard, as well as sporting challenges – Golf, Archery, Swimming, and the hugely successful Big Bushey Bike Ride.
Unfortunately, we have been notified that an event that has proved very popular over recent years : the opportunity to climb St James’s Church tower and try your hand at bell ringing, has had to be cancelled because of the continuing renovation work going on in the tower and bell-chamber. Our apologies for this. The tours of the church itself, in the afternoon, will still go ahead.
We hope that you like the updated Festival website. You will find all the details that are in the Festival leaflet, the booking form, details of the Saturday Box Office, event venues and our sponsors.
Please ensure that you book your tickets early! I look forward to seeing you at some of the exciting events of the 2015 Bushey Festival. With very best wishes
