There is so much going on at the Bushey Festival this weekend and something for everyone.
This Friday at 6pm the Bushey and Oxhey Round Table start their annual Beer Festival at the Three Crowns. All beers and ciders are £3 a pint and ALL proceeds will go to the Three Crowns Charity pot which is given out to good causes throughout the year. Michael and his team gave nearly £10,000 to charities last year which was raised at events like this. Please give them your support at some time over the weekend.
At 8pm Random are putting on an English Ceilidh at the Bushey Centre. So get your dancing shoes on and come and see what happens at a Ceilidh. There is a fully licenced bar too.
Farmyard Fun World are putting on a special event on Saturday at 11am. Take the children down there to see the farm animals and pets.
At 11am at Reveley Lodge there is the Reveley Artists’ Challenge. Paint or draw a picture with other people who share a passion for art.
At noon St James’s Church host the next in their Saturday Lunchtime Concerts. Go and hear Channarong with this splendid piano recital.
During the afternoon local historian Dianne Payne will be taking people on guided tours of St James’s Church. She has a wealth of knowledge to share with you about the church and the surrounding area.
We will have another of Bentley Priory Museum at 3pm but we are pleased to say it have unfortunately sold out. Although not on the reduced rate were able to negotiate the Museum is open to the public throughout the year details of which can be found on their website.
We have a Cabaret Night on Saturday evening, again at the Bushey Centre. Come and enjoy the acts we have managed to get for you. Steve and Rob and Melody 3 will have lots of songs you know and enjoy.
If you have been following the Tour de France, Sunday morning is your opportunity to take part in the Tour of Bushey with our Big Bushey Bike Ride. It leave the Moatfield at 10am. Thanks to Bushey Rangers Football Club for hosting it and there will be a barbecue and live music during the afternoon.
For all you dog lover in Bushey, Sunday is also the day for the eagerly awaited Dog Show at the King George V Recreation Ground. Registration starts at 11am with judging commencing at noon.
After the dog show you can stroll down to the Bushey Rose Garden for the Garden Party. This is run by Hertsmere Leisure and the Friends of the Rose Garden and starts at 2pm.
At 3pm the social committee of St James’s Church at holding a Cream Tea in the Old Rectory Garden. Tea and scones for all.
When you have been to all of those event you can go back up the hill to the Three Crowns and try the rest of the ales and ciders as the Bushey and Oxhey Round Table beer festival will be going over the entire weekend.
